Use this info guide to learn how to turn on and use Call Waiting below.
How it works
Call Waiting lets you answer a second call when you're already on the phone; you’ll never miss another call.
For 3G (EVDO)
- To answer the second call, press SEND or the phone icon. This puts your first call on hold and connects you with the second caller.
- To put the second call on hold and reconnect with the first, press SEND or the phone icon again.
- You can alternate between callers as often as you wish, by repeatedly pressing SEND or the phone icon.
- To end both calls at once, press END.
For 3G (HSPA)
- To answer the second call, choose Accept or Answer on the menu screen. This puts your first call on hold and connects you with the second caller.
- Follow the menu options to put the second call on hold and return to the first.
- You can alternate between callers as often as you wish by following the menu options. Certain phone models will allow you to set up a conference call between two callers. Please consult your phone’s user guide for specific instructions.
- To end both calls at once, press END.
Good to know
- When one of the callers hangs up, you can continue your conversation with the other caller.
- If you decide not to answer a second incoming call, and you subscribe to Solo Mobile Message Centre, the call will be forwarded directly to your voicemail box.
- If a third call arrives while both lines are busy, the third caller will either hear a busy signal or will be transferred directly to your voicemail box.
- When using the Call Waiting service, airtime charges are applicable for each call taking place simultaneously.
Call Waiting troubleshooting
I can't link to my second caller.
Make sure you're pressing the SEND button (button may also display a phone icon).
Call Waiting doesn't seem to be working.
Call Waiting will not operate when Call Forwarding or Three-way Calling is activated.
Message Centre picks up before I can answer Call Waiting.
If your phone is set to ring three times or less before going to voicemail, you will only hear one beep for Call Waiting. Change the setting to allow more rings before going to voicemail.
I don't know how to change the number of rings.
To change the number of rings before your call goes to voicemail, dial *94 from your mobile phone. Enter the number of rings you'd like your callers to hear; this can be between two and nine rings. Press SEND or the phone icon. If the change was successful, you'll hear a confirmation tone. If the change wasn't successful, you'll hear a fast busy signal; try again.
